NLP Trainer | Clinical Psychologist | MHPSS Trainer & Supervisor | Ukraine
Volodymyr Kirov is an NLP Trainer, Clinical Psychologist, trauma therapist, MHPSS Trainer and Supervisor, and Founder and Head of Leadership Centre Vershyna. He is based in Odesa, Ukraine.
His professional experience combines psychology, NLP, adult learning, facilitation, leadership, and many years of work with professionals and organisations in situations of war, crisis, and long-term stress.
NLP Professional Journey
Volodymyr has been developing his professional skills in NLP for many years.
In 2017, he completed his NLP Practitioner training with Meta-International. In 2024, he qualified as an NLP Master Practitioner, continuing to develop his skills in communication, personal change, facilitation, and training.
In 2026, he reached the next stage of his professional NLP journey and became an NLP Trainer with NLPEA.
In his practice, Volodymyr is especially interested in the use of NLP in communication, leadership, facilitation, change processes, resilience, and professional development.
At the same time, he sees NLP as a separate area of his professional work and makes a clear distinction between NLP and evidence-based clinical and MHPSS approaches.
Psychology, MHPSS and International Experience
Volodymyr holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and has professional training as a Clinical Psychologist. He has also completed professional training in trauma therapy, military psychology, Positive Psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural approaches, crisis psychology, and Eye Movement Integration (EMI).
An important part of his work is connected with Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and scalable psychological and mental health interventions.
He has completed trainer and/or supervisor training in WHO mhGAP, Problem Management Plus (PM+), Self-Help Plus (SH+), Group Problem Management Plus (gPM+), and Psychological First Aid (PFA). His professional development in these areas has involved the World Health Organization, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, MHPSS Academy, International Medical Corps, and other international partners.
Between 2022 and 2026, more than 5,000 people participated in training programmes and workshops delivered by Volodymyr.
Participants have included healthcare professionals, psychologists, social workers, educators, humanitarian and NGO professionals, and other specialists. His practical experience includes more than 40 mhGAP trainings, as well as PM+, SH+, and PFA programmes, Training of Trainers activities, and professional supervision.
During his professional career, Volodymyr has worked and cooperated with Ukrainian and international organisations and programmes, including FHI 360, Medair, UNICEF, International Medical Corps, and other partners.
Military and Veteran Context
Volodymyr’s current professional focus also includes psychological support, resilience, communication, and adaptation in military and veteran contexts.
His experience includes work with military personnel, veterans, their families, and professionals who provide psychological and psychosocial support to people affected by war.
Working in Ukraine during the full-scale war has given him direct professional experience in supporting people and organisations facing high levels of stress, uncertainty, loss, psychological trauma, and major life changes.
Leadership Centre Vershyna
Volodymyr is the Founder and Head of Leadership Centre Vershyna, a Ukrainian NGO that develops educational and psychological programmes in leadership, communication, soft skills, psychological support, and mental health.
Leadership Centre Vershyna is also listed among the partner organisations of the WHO-supported mhGAP Initiative in Ukraine.
Through Vershyna, Volodymyr aims to develop professional education, international cooperation, and high-quality training opportunities for psychologists, trainers, helping professionals, leaders, and other specialists.
Author-Developed Models and Tools
Another area of Volodymyr’s professional work is the development of his own training models, protocols, and practical tools.
One of them is “Compass of Return”, an author-developed model designed to support psychological recovery, self-regulation, resilience, and return to active life after crisis and traumatic experiences.
He is also developing 2T2P — Timeline Trauma Processing Protocol, an author-developed structured approach to working with traumatic experiences, based on several years of his practical work with timeline approaches.
In developing his own models, Volodymyr pays special attention to professional and ethical boundaries between NLP, author-developed approaches, and methods that have their own scientific and evidence base.
Leadership and Public Administration
Volodymyr’s professional background also includes law, public administration, and organisational leadership. He holds Master’s degrees in Psychology, Law, and Public Administration.
Before psychology and training became the main areas of his professional work, he held management positions in the public sector, including working as an Assistant to the Minister of Health of Ukraine and as Head of the Family and Youth Department of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
For many years, he also worked as a trainer in the professional development system for public servants, providing training in communication, conflict management, change management, resilience, self-regulation, and psychological influence.
Training Approach and Professional Vision
Volodymyr’s training style is practical, structured, and interactive. He combines clear theoretical frameworks with demonstrations, practical exercises, reflection, group work, supervision, and discussion of real professional situations.
His experience as a psychologist, trainer, supervisor, manager, and public administration professional allows him to work with wider areas such as communication, leadership, decision-making, team development, resilience, and change management.
Volodymyr sees his role as an NLP Trainer not only in delivering training programmes, but also in developing people, supporting new practitioners and trainers, building professional communities, and strengthening international cooperation.
His goal is to support the development of high-quality and ethically responsible NLP training in Ukraine, based on clear professional standards and continuous development of practitioners and trainers.
He also aims to create more learning opportunities for Ukrainian- and Russian-speaking professionals internationally, including professionals from Eastern Europe and other countries, and to contribute to the further development of the NLPEA professional community in Ukraine and the wider region.
An important part of his professional vision is also to continue developing new training programmes, author-developed models, and practical tools, bringing together his experience in NLP, psychology, leadership, trauma-related work, resilience, and adult learning.
His wider ambition is to support a professional environment where NLP is taught and practised responsibly and ethically, with clear boundaries between NLP, psychological practice, and evidence-based mental health interventions.
For Volodymyr, becoming an NLPEA NLP Trainer is not the final point of his professional journey. It is the beginning of a new stage — teaching, developing professionals, building communities, creating new approaches, and strengthening international cooperation.
